That's what they're trying to get away from with their stupid little word game...to try to get people to not associate democracy (which has a good connotation) with the Democratic Party. That's why they're so rabid about saying "we're not a democracy; we're a republic." Democracy=Democratic Party...Republic=Republican Party. It's a two-pronged effort.
