This story is IMO second in importance only to the economy. I didn't get a chance to watch any of the Sunday shows today however so perhaps we wake up tomorrow to find everyone talking about it?

1. Doubt they do, since it would hurt McCain
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 07:45 PM by orestes
The media desperately wants a horse race, even if that means they have to make believe. They won't give this much run since it would make their pretend horse race look even sillier when McCain loses another point or two because of it.

6. This makes the most sense to me, however ...
It seems like it would have lasted a little longer than just half of Saturday.

5. The Democrats would have to push it to keep it in the news cycle
That's actually the only reason this Ayers and ACORN stuff is out there now - because the Republicans are desperate and are pushing it hard. The Democrats know their victory will come from focusing on the economy.

13. Yup. Faux and CNN are always talking about ACORN-especially Faux which has

stories on ACORN nearly every minute. Any time I check Faux they're talking about it. And associating it to Obama. :eyes:

7. At this point, anyone who thinks Sarah Palin is a qualified pick
has nothing but air between their ears. They don't care one way or the other about troopergate. I'm sure they think she was totally justified in trying to get her ex-brother in law fired.

8. It's out there, though, people talk about it
She is very unpopular. People pick it up, believe me.

The MSM are at fault. We'll call them on it when the dust has settled.

12. I agree with your first point - her popularity really eroded, and quickly too.
Most of us here knew it would, to be fair. We all just had to live through that two-week love affair everyone had with her.

11. I think Biden (or surrogates)
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 07:57 PM by nyhuskyfan
Can start saying on the campaign trail that they are running against the first ticket in US history where both people have ethics violations. And they have the nerve to suggest they want to bring reform to the White House.

I'd leave it along those lines. No point in getting bogged down in specifics, and you bring the top of the ticket - and Keating Five - back into the equation.

Obama can mention it in the debate if he senses a chance to score some points.

On edit: maybe Biden should leave it alone since that trumped-up plagiarism issue could come up.

14. It will get more attention the more Palin and McCain try to spin it. She already misrepresented
the results once.

the MSM will take great pleasure in exposing the "inconsistencies"
