I think Obama should announce his September fundraising total Wednesday morning...
Go into the debate with all the buzz about Obama's $100+ million haul in September.

1. I think after the debate would be more dramatic - underscoring how
Obama TOTALLY dominated and won!

2. I agree. Winning the news cycle of the day on Wednesday does just about nothing.
However, building on a good debate performance or offsetting a poor performance if that should happen, would be best.

3. I think they should hold off as long as possible...
Because once that number comes out, people will feel that they don't need to donate any more. But who knows, maybe they will release then. Or release it on Thursday morning just after the debate.

4. Ha! Four posts, three different opinions. Good thing we're not Obama's advisers! nt

5. I think he will save it for after the debate
plus the longer he can wait the more likely people are to still give money - if people think he has enough they will stop giving

6. Exactly we are in the home stretch
Don't release a giant haul in the last month. Let people still give so the last week you can blast the GOP.

7. I'd vote for Thursday morning.
That way it doesn't give McCain's team 12 hours' time in which to come-up with a cheesy one-liner. Win the debate, and then - in the afterglow of victory - bolster that victory with a press release trumpeting how much "we, the people" support him.

8. They won't release the total until they have to....
Because if they did raise 100 million, it might turn off people from donating more. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until the end of this month to announce it.

9. Since the primaries ended they have never announced
their fundraising totals until they were required to on the 20th of the month following. Why allow McSame to know precisely the amount of money the O camp has?
