Are we so desensitized as a nation that this hugely unethical crap is just taken in stride?!!

If someone Obama knew in third grade did this, the MSM would connect those 6-degrees of crazy dots and been all over him.

This election is truly stepping into bizzaroworld.

1. Oh that little thing? Didn't you hear? It was a partisan attack - nothing more.
You were expecting maybe what- that the corporate mainstream media would actually allow this story to stay afloat? A piece on national news perhaps? A mention on CNN? The same media that refuses to discuss election fraud and is accusing ACORN of "voter fraud"?

Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 05:57 PM by AtomicKitten
in the McCain camp had her file a complaint against herself so the Personnel Board whom she appointed can weigh in. McCain apparently doesn't even recognize integrity anymore and I'll bet was surprised when the board hired a special prosecutor, coincidentally a Democrat - ouch - to render judgment.

I think with Palin going all Cheney and BS'ing about the actual findings deserves some scrutiny, but then again I think Bush and Cheney should have been impeached, so what the hell do I know.

2. If the Obama campaign pushed the abuse of power issue it would stick but they aren't for
...some reason.

Pushing that to me would be an instant let down to the McCain base also McKlans getting out in front of the issue didn't help Obama.

9. thanks to you and Frenchie Cat for the links
I'm just dropping in today and am off again tonight to work on the campaign. I will pass these links far and wide.

I am so agitated today that this most egregious finding is being treated like no big deal. I really thought nobody was swayed by Palin clearing herself beforehand, but apparently the MSM is fine with it. Aaargggh!

That kind of corruption seems to function best in an air of bullshit, and I don't think America can stand another moment of it. That we have a constitutional scholar running against that mess really resonates. Good god almighty it's almost over.

15. It is outrageous and the fact that the MSM isn't talking about it is equally outrageous.
Biden mentioned "abuse of power" in a speech but it wasn't about this specifically. Maybe that's their way of hinting at it without saying it directly. I'm hoping Obama smacks McCain upside the head with it in the debate because it is something that must be said out loud in front of as many Americans as possible. Plus it won't cost him a dime.

12. This is the standard for conservatives:
A VP candidate who:

abuses her power
preaches division
unqualified
a liar
will not allow press access
an adulterer (according to the Enquirer, and Palin never contested it)
a poor mother

They are hypocrites.

18. The pattern i notice is that unless Obama pushes this thing repeated via surrogates then...
it will die...Notice how when the GOP finds a new talking point they repeat it ad nasuea on all the stations and on the stump .. and when they do this the media doesnt stop talking about it and pick up the torch and run with it....The democrats dont tend to do that...they sit back and wait for the media to "hopefully" pick it up. So if Obama is ever to use it he and his surrogates will need to bring it up 24/7 for at least 3 days straight, or bring it up during the debate and the media will go nutz on it, but i asm guessing he wont bother. And considerng how well Obama is doing now it is less likely to be used.

We need to make sure this thing isn't even close. Keep up the good work. Knock on doors, make phone calls, offer rides to the polls and give till it hurts. No one is going to help us win this thing - we are going to have to do it all by ourselves. Barack is depending on us - time to downshift and double our efforts!

42. Standard Operating Procedure
This is the way it is now. Nothing they do or say is outrageous, unless some grassroots shitstorm develops, and then they examine the other side with a microscope looking for anything they can by any stretch of logic call equivalent and proclaim 'both sides have ethical issues', or 'both sides have gone negative', or 'both sides are encouraging hatred and fear'.

This is why we have to buy our narrative with 100s of millions of dollars of individual donations. The corporate party gets its narrative for free from the corporate media.

A report... not even the committee itself... said she violated ethics law.

It's a single step in what's likely to be a long-term scandal for her. The MSMedia aren't biting just yet. The most juicy headline was simply how she flat out went into denial about the first finding. That itself is a more meaningful story than the finding... at this point.
