According to the census there are 1,500,000 Arab Americans in this country. I have not seen any polls on how they are voting. There has been a lot of racial shit coming out of the rethug party about linking Arabs to terrorist.Zogby sometimes has polling on this but I have not seen any thing lately.

Michigan - and to a lesser extent in San Diego.


It may have been a contributing factor in McCain giving up Michigan.

(San Diego's Arab population is largely Chaldean Christians and fairly conservative politically)

7. Anecdotally speaking...

My fellow cab drivers ALL despise Bush. McCain is a joke to them. Of course, many are Pakistanis, Iranians, Nigerians, Indians, etc.... but many are Syrian, Ethiopian, Lebanese, Yemeni, etc....

I would guess McCain has vilified them enough as a group that they will shun him, with the possible exception of those who might be in some sort of business that profits from sub contracting work for Halliburton, et. al. ...

Hell, even the Afghanis despise the Republicans these days...

I guess this is part of the greater Detroit area. When you drive north on I-75 near Toledo there is a beautiful mosque on the right.

All the one's i've met have been perfectly nice. Met an Iranian guy my own age (27, our B-days only separated by like 10 days), even spoke Farsi as his first-language. I didn't know what Farsi was, so he told me, 'Persian'. Cool as could be. We were no different... people are people.
