3. The format is the "sitting side by side at a table"... not much will happen
Gentlemanly and calm, most likely. Advantage: Obama

8. I'm going to call it and say
McCain will utter "my friends" a minimum of 31 times.

Wild card - a reference to 'that one' again.

10. McCain mentions Bill Ayers without mentioning Ayers' ties to Republican
Senators and Republican Governors. Republican Mark Sanford knows Bill Ayers well. He awarded him the highest award in the state of South Carolina that a professor at the University of South Carolina can receive. Bill Ayers was lauded by the Dean and faculty of USC. This happened in 2005. Easy to Google the information. SC is the most right wing nut job conservative state in the union.
I was born there a long time ago. I know the old plantation mentality well. You show me a Republican and I'll Show you an unrepentant racist.

17. Obama's "say it to my face" rope-a-dope approach
imagine this...

A) "As for character, the american people just have to ask themselves... which of us has changed in the last year based on polls, based on cynical politics? Which of us has compromised their principles and integrity in the running of their campaign? John promised to stay focused on the issues and to run a clean campaign. His own republican friends are saying they no longer even recognize him."

B) "You know, your close buddy Joe Lieberman JUST said he would probably support me some day. I believe he was your first pick for VP, wasn't he? Obviously he's still in your camp right now, but it says a lot about your attempts to destroy my character when your wingman himself rejects those attacks. There are many republicans who have openly criticized your campaign and your attacks."

C) "Likewise, i find it strange that when asked by the wonderful Pastor Rick Warren, in a forum on ethics and faith, to name 3 people whose advice you most value... you named John Lewis. However, when Lewis gave his advice... you attacked him mercilessly. You must not respect his experience and advice all that much, and i think those who watched the Rick Warren forum should reflect on that. You threw a temper tantrum rather than to consider the basic point he was making. I don't completely agree with him either, but again... look at how you responded."

D) "I've been campaigning for 20 months & getting to meet americans all over this great country. There have been over 30 debates. There have been countless interviews and exposes on my life, on my associations. You keep up with this suggestion that there's some hidden, radical side to me that needs investigation. Yet every time you toss something out, the fact checkers call it silly. You obviously would like to focus on character assassination more than the issues troubling america, but john... that says a lot about your character. And if you are going to change who you are based on polls, then maybe you ought to listen to the american people this time. They care about the issues. Your own campaign announced that they'd stop discussion the economy because it was hurting you in the polls. John, you need to stop selling lies out of the caboose of the straight talk express."

Just imagine the RAGE on Mccain's face...

19. Pundits have been saying expect a lot more fireworks/risks here
The reasoning of course is for McCain this is his last 'best' chance to change the race. McCain, simply put, HAS to take some risks, or else he'll never produce a game changer (unless Obama really screws up bad on his own of course, but there's far more of a chance of that happening if McCain takes a risk that knock's Obama off his game).

Obama, being so far ahead needs to simply get a tie at the debate, but outright winning it wouldn't hurt either.

One thing I found kind of interesting, (but that worried me a bit since I tend to be pessimistic) that I heard on a Sunday talk show is that Obama's campaign is sort of egging McCain on to bring up Ayers. Me, I'm personally worried that such an attack could hurt Obama in the debate more then McCain, but the fact that Obama's campaign isn't worried about it seems to show that they feel confident that they'll come out ahead in such an exchange.

20. Both Obama and McCain will come out fighting
McCain might throw a few harsh words, Obama will shut him up with a good comeback. Maybe a gaffe here and there. Every news outlet will say Obama won slightly except for FOX NEWS.

The television "analysts" will say it was McCain's strongest debate and that Obama had a good night.

22. I hope for fists, but I predict a snoozefest
McCain will let his last chance slip through his fingers and sit there and do nothing. He has nothing. And, he's apparently terrified of Obama (probably because Obama can make him look like a fool if McCain gets out of line).

Because McCain is on autopilot these days (and has to be, because he's too old and too tired to think quickly or react appropriately to unknown circumstances), he cannot afford to try for the fireworks/grand slam/attack plan. It will just make him look stupid when Obama says, "that is nice, John. But I want to get back to the issues..."

24. I predict that it will be a boring repeat of the other debates
McCain will probably be negative and attack "that one" like he did in the second debate. Obama will be cool, calm, and collected like he usually is. Nothing new will come from this debate.

25. If we're lucky, McCain will do another wandering act.
I can hear it now.

"Have you seen my dog? Mr. Puddles, where are you? I have Snausages." (Totally stolen from Jon Stewart.)
