Joe Biden in my backyard (No-REALLY!).....
...he was. If you walk out my backdoor and walk about 100' and step over a stone wall you will be in the rear parking lot of the American Legion hall in Rochester, NH.

I couldn't go see him because I had to work today at our Hot Dog stand. So the early morning was given over to a supply run and then I stopped home for about an hour before heading to work. A few observations...

When I was driving home around 10am I passed the hall and saw two people heading for the hall with protest signs...the handpainted one said "Human Life Is Sacred!" and the other carried what appeared to be a John McCain yard sign. I saw no protesters in front of the hall so I guess they may have been it. I'll check the news tonight to see if they got the airtime they so appearently crave. I guess the irony of protesting a Catholic over abortion escaped them...

As I walked from my car onto my front deck I heard Joe speaking...They piped the speech outside the building (overflow crowd?) and it was kinda cool thinking to myself as I unlocked the front door "HEY, that's the next vice-president of the US, and he's right over there!".

I got to work late....Damn Democrats jammed the roads when leaving the speech...most "damn" Democrats I've seen in one place in NH in the 14 years I've been here. You've got to love it...as I turned onto the main drag I asked two ladies with "Obama Volunteer" nametags how it went...they walked over and showed me a picture on a digital camera one had brought...there was Joe with a big smile and an arm around each of their shoulders...

Anyhow I was working and couldn't make the event...It was still a GREAT day.

1. I am sorry you couldn't go, but thanks for the report. It sounds like the ladies
you met had a GREAT day, indeed.

:hi:

2. They did....
they had plans for enlargements and thinking they might have a chance to get them signed...one called it a "lifetime photo"...and I doubt either was 40 yet...

3. The more I learn about Biden the more I like the guy, Obama made a good choice in him. Palin on the
...other hand is just a disaster, I wouldn't want her or her secessionist husband anywhere NEAR the White House

5. Obama has been to the same hall...
and AGAIN I had to work. I just like the idea that democracy is happening nearby. I love that every Friday for the last several years, a local liberal lawyer (Manny Kravitz) has led a protest against the war in Iraq down at the statue of Parson Main (strange name,no?) on Main Street. Maybe I'll bring them cookies again this Friday...
