Barring something totally unforeseen, Sarah Palin will not be elected vice president.

She will likely run for president in 2012. That means she will be off to New Hampshire and Iowa for bean suppers, Rotary meetings, and such. Not just staged mega-events, but retail campaigning.

If she tries to keep up this act, she will get crucified. NH and IA expect candidates to be accessible, and if she tries to stay in her shell, she will be crushed at the polls.
