I double dog dare you!
to go to a home with McCain/Palin signs and ask them a few questions...

1. What does it mean to be a Republican?
2. Why are you supporting a man who supported bush 90% of the time?
3. Do you really know how much of our tax dollars and DEBT have gone to:
a) a War that should not have been waged?
b) no bid contracts aka Halliburton and friends?
c) billionaires?

Chances are, they *think* they are republican because they don't like our Democratic programs... or because they want to *think* they are wealthy.

When you provide the numbers to them - the cost of the war, the cost of the no bid contracts, the tax reductions to the ultra wealthy... in contrast to the much smaller amount of the Democratic programs...you just may be able to sway them. Oh, yes, you will also have to take the air out of their balloon and let them know the Republican Party is a party representing people with over $5 million income a year, not for those in the obvious income bracket they are in.

Not that we need their votes...but if you are like me your head is getting sore from all the scratching when driving by and seeing their signs..... If we can all convince just one...

If someone wants to post the dollar amounts of the above, it would be appreciated...

2. I understand your feelings
But you won't change anybody's mind with confrontation because it puts them on the defensive. In my experience, folks who bring up this issue (politics) are looking for some one to agree with them which signifies doubt or lack of conviction on their part. It is that doubt and the fact that they brought up the subject that allows your list of questions to be effective.

Having said all that, my first instinct is pull up their sign and slap the shit out of 'em with it.
