106 year old Voting for Obama today
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Ann Nixon Cooper, 106 years old, has seen presidents come and go in her lifetime and has outlived most of them. On a sunny fall morning, she left her weathered but well-kept Tudor home in Atlanta, Georgia, to vote early -- this time for Barack Obama.

Ann Nixon Cooper, 106 years old, lived during a time when blacks and women did not have the right to vote.

The African-American centenarian remembers a time not long ago when she was barred from voting because of her race. Now she hopes to see the day that Obama is elected as the nation's first black president.

8. I got choked up when I saw this on CNN.
What a wonderful day for our nation, and what this means for all of us collectively. If we elect Barack we will begin to move past the divisions of old, and forge a new chapter of American history, and will ensure that the 21st century will not be noted as the centurt during which American civilzation declined.

9. Good for this fine lady. McCain will top that when he votes, however.

10. Let's all hope her vote was counted correctly!
I noticed in the article that she used a touch screen voting machine thus no paper trail. I'm seriously worried by this ...

12. In Georgia, probably not.
I don't think they even bother to cover up the wholesale fraud there since 2002. :(

13. My friend is taking the day off to take her 102-yo aunt to vote
Another African-American centenarian who can't wait to cast her vote for Obama!

She's in a nursing home, very frail, but mentally sharp as a tack, and very excited about Obama. Patrice asked her "do you need me to bring you an absentee ballot?" and the cousin was insulted "I've always voted in person, and that's not going to change now."

I'll post pictures on election day (Pennsylvania doesn't have early voting, so the poor woman is going to have to stand in line - I'm going to suggest that Patrice get her there for the poll opening to avoid that - advice I'd give ANYONE who doesn't want to stand in line.)
