What Is A Comfortable Margin? What Percentage of Votes Can The GOP Suppress? Five Percent?

If you think that the GOP will be successful in suppresing five percent of the vote, then we need to keep polling results in excess of that percentage.

We have already seen signs of GOP voter suppression and intimindation in early voting. These efforts will likely reach a fevered pitch as we approach the election. Thus, while poll numbers have looked fairly solid, this does not take into account efforts by the GOP to suppress and intimidate voters.

The GOP just needs to harass minority and women voters, and if it can turn away 5% of such voters, then McCain can win.

2. My personal Yardstick is...

...under a 4% margin in the popular vote is a close election, over 4% & under 10% is a comfortable margin, 10%+ is a landslide.

My prediction is a 6 to 8% margin for Obama, although I hope it's over 10%. I've NEVER seen a ticket that deserved a landslide defeat more than McSame/Palin(comparison).
