Soon the GI deaths in Iraq will reach 1,000---what then??
Can't remember who I was watching a few days ago who was bashing the way the media does not do their job, etc. When asked about what happens when this reaches 1,000, he said the news will do a one day story, and not mention it again. I believe that on that day Kerry should begin a vicious savaging of Bush on his rush to war, his no exit plans and the bogged down mess this war is. He is already doing this and calling Bush "unfit to lead". But I believe that on that day Kerry should make sure Americans do not forget and do not give this bastard a pass. Bush wants the "strong/decisive" leader label stuck to him. Kerry should point out that when "strong and decisive" doesn't have 'intelligent thinking'as part of the mix, the results are catastrophic---and 1,000 of our GI's paid the price because of the lack of Bush's ability to think.

1. bush and his mob will simply get more nasty
in proportion to how bad things get. Don't forget that he is a dictator now. He is in control of all of the branches of government. They are turning up the heat on us slowly, so we don't jump out of the pot. Make no mistake, they have no intentions of allowing Kerry to become President.

3. Unless Kerry calls the war lost, and declares he will pull the troops out
as soon as he takes office, everyone else will dismiss it as campaign rhetoric.

Kerry needs to borrow a page from Spanish Premier Zapatero who pulled Spain out of Iraq, instead of criticizing him.

4. The village idiot will mosey off to another campaign event
and tell everyone what a 'catastrophic success' it is and those kids dying proves it!

6. Soon the GI deaths in Iraq will reach 1,000---what then??
Unfortunately, if we leave this up to Bush & Co., those deaths will soon be forgotten and replaced with 1,000 more. Sad, but these soldiers are just a commodity to be used and discarded by this bunch. These soldiers are a means to an end.

10. Bush will go on in blissful ignorance as the death toll increases
We need to present a stark alternative to Bush, and that is to not repeat the "peace with honor" mistake that was done in Vietnam. We must withdraw the troops ASAP.

7. It just really ticks me off
It wasn't necessary. Now it's a hard situation to solve and the deaths keep on coming in a steady drip. It's hard to swallow.

9. I think we are already past 1,000
The CNN War on Iraq pages list 993 dead -- the reports today have at least seven more of our soldiers killed in action. They will not be added to the list until their next of kin are notified, but they are already there.

Hear anything on the news today about this? Nope, I didn't either.

11. Kerry should hold a week long funeral.
Edited on Mon Sep-06-04 08:34 PM by Gregorian
On that day, which we all hope never comes, Kerry, and all Democrats, should do what Bush can't seem to do- pay honor and respect to those who died for HIS war. Yes, it would be about politics. Yes, it would be about winning this election. And for a very righteous reaon- if Bush were elected, there would be many more deaths than if Kerry is president. So we should hold a full blown ceremony with military honors, marching bands, speeches. And make it so that we come across looking like we care, and Bush doesn't. Off the top of my head, that's what would seem the best thing to do.

Edit-
