First let me give you some background info. My boss owns two businesses. A School and Sports League Photography company and he also Reps for Readers Digest selling books in teachers lounges that they give as gifts or put in the school library etc. Each business does over a million a year so I suspect he will be affected by Obama's tax plan. However, his two business's are exactly the type that will see major impacts if the middle class has more to spend. His book business especially has been impacted by the poor economy. It is barely making any profit this year as teachers, who have relatively small salaries to begin with, are not spending on luxury things like books. I suspect he will come out ahead even with the tax increase he gets. Probably way ahead!
My Response was to a cartoon he sent that showed someone taking Obama's contributions away and giving them to John McCain. It was a really poor argument once broken down:
Hey (name removed),
Keep in mind that probably 98% of people who buy books and photos will be getting a tax cut of around $1,000 a year. That is a lot of extra money to buy bigger picture packages and more books. That money will trickle up, so it won't be just those making less than $250,000 a year benefiting. Small business owners like you will get a hell of a lot of that money as people have more money to spend.
Jump starting the economy by giving more money to those who will actually spend it, will benefit everyone, not just the middle class.
As for taking money people gave a candidate and giving it to another candidate. That would be more against the will of the people that gave contributions to that candidate who are speaking with their wallet. That is apples and oranges compared to lowering taxes for the middle class and raising it for those making more. Especially since a lot of that money goes right back into the economy and back into the pockets of people like you.
Sincerely,...
