1. Already started?
They never stop during an election year -- any election year whether it's Presidential, congressional or local elections.

3. I think they have.
I frankly see good reason why they should: every candidate at every other candidate's throat, etc. . Fertile soil in which to plant all SORTS of 'bad seeds'.

And so have Dean's. Do not fool yourself - he is every bit as Nixonian as I have been saying here on DU for months.

9. Not to antagonize, but when have they stopped?
It's ebbed and flowed with the elections, but I think the GOP smear research division never shuts down.

11. The GOP has ...
... elevated the politics of dirty tricks into an art form.

Then they are the first to whine and cry the loudest when someone raises a legitimate ethical concern.

Thin-skinned hypocrites!

12. I voted yes...
but I'm really on the "they never stopped" bandwagon. I'm one of those people who think they helped "pump up" Dean when he was first starting out, because they thought he'd be easy to beat. I also think they're beginning to regret that. I think they've finally realized they're going to have a real fight on their hands, whether the nominee is Clark or Dean, so they're now trying to insure that Clark supporters won't back Dean if he gets it, and vice versa.

Of course, this is just my humble (ok, not so humble) opinion.

21. I agree
Though I wouldn't limit it to just the Dean and Clark campaigns. I think early on the RW were behind most of the discord between the Kerry and Dean camps too. And if next week, our strongest contenders become Sharpton and Lieberman, they'll do their darndest to divide those camps too. A house divided against itself...

14. Rumor passed to me
In downtown LA last Friday a meeting was held, it was dirty tricksters from the Area-----many attended USC going back to the FIRST (documented) dirty tricks squadron.

In it, they discussed fomenting discord amongst the democrats by joining the Clark campaign.

This explains a LOT here at DU, no?

THis message was part of a larger package of intel I paid for from a waiter in the club it was held in who routinely sells what he hears for money.

Unless these guys want to forgo domestic help, they had best be aware these folks understand english.

First, the Republicans want Dean. If he gets the nomination, they'll get what they want.

It's worse than that. There is another candiate who might surprise people and it looks like Republicans who have taken over his campaign in one area of the country may be pushing to control the delegates for that candidate. I saw a note earlier that anyone who wants to be a delegate for the candidate I'm supporting has to send an application to a particular guy - who is definitly not in our party. Any suggestions on how to keep the delegation Democratic?

I really don't like the Republicans.
