1. I think I stopped crying five minutes ago. But I might start again.

Every morning I wake up and read the news and I still can't believe it. We actually have a president that we elected! Wow!

And, then, I read about his plans to immediately reverse some of Bush's damage, and I say again: Wow! This is a man who actually is doing what he was elected to do.

And, the icing on the cake is this: He doesn't have to worry about what the Repulicans and Fox News says about him! They've already thrown their very worst at him and none of it has stuck! Americans now know that they are just nasty, ugly assholes who are full of shit and have no problem lying to their own people, to get what they want. He CAN fulfill his mandate. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain by doing so.

maybe the swearing in will make it easier for me to realize.

6. I have a hard time believing it, too, sometimes. But I'm afraid

President Obama will have his hands full trying to undo the damage done by the repubs in the last eight years. Bush has left the country in dismal shape, there is precious little left to work with. We face a 10 trillion dollar national debt, and a banking system in chaos. Add to that a broken military. I would not want to face the problems Obama will face in the next four years.
