Kansas Preacher Pushes Obama Muslim Message

WICHITA, KAN. -- A Wichita, Kansas preacher says he will not remove a message on his church sign that says President-Elect Barack Obama is a Muslim.

The sign is staying up despite the fact that Obama is a Christian.

The sign at Spirit One Christian Center reads, "America we have a Muslim president. This is sin against the Lord."

Obama supporters reportedly got into a shouting match with parishioners outside the church on Sunday.

thought Christians will generally say that Muslims are wrong about their prophet, rules, etc., just like Jews will deny that Jesus was the Messiah, so there's rivalry and disagreement to be sure.

Look folks, free speech protection isn't necessary for popular speech. If this man wants to say this, he is entitled to do so. If Obama doesn't like it, he's entitled to sue for defamation. 1) On the sign at least it would be libel not slander...

2) Why is it EITHER libelous or slanderous to refer to someone as Muslim? This is insulting to Muslims not Barack Obama because it presupposes that there is something inherently "wrong" about being Muslim. The insinuation is the conflation of Muslim with terrorist which is no more fair that Christian with terrorist simply because Timothy McVeigh happened to be a Christian.

3) Public figures have far higher stanndards to meet when it comes to winning a defamation case like this anyways.
