DAMN IT just when I thought it couldn't sink in more it has sunk in deeper WE ARE REALLY TAKING ...
. . .THIS COUNTRY BACK!

I know there are a ton of folks who want to complain and moan about today's appointments but for some reason this press conference is really moving me.

This is not about the right or the left its about America, the American people.

For those who think some of the appointees are too moderate or too conservative, understand one thing, THEY WORK FOR BARACK OBAMA, the most progressive President-Elect in recent history.

I'm very comfortable with Gates because he is going forward with the charge from PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA to end this damned war. He is not my first choice but he is a great choice.

Hillary at SOS are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? As much as she pissed me off during the primaries I believe she is a damned good choice. Outside of Bill Clinton or Barack Obama himself, there is no one American who is more admired in the world and it is my hope and belief that she will serve this country in a manner that will make us all proud.

I can go on and on, but folks today's appointees will bring this country back to where it needs to be.

1. I'm sorry.
I'm just not that excited about anyone he's picked, thus far.

Of course, I wasn't that excited about any of the Dems running. Don't misunderstand me. I wanted a Democrat. I abhor Republican policies. I just don't like many of the power brokers Obama has picked. He promised me... us... change. This is Clinton redux.

I'm not mad or utterly disappointed, either. Just kind of "blah" about the whole thing.

6. If the guy in charge changes this country then that is what matters. . .
. . .the best way to end this war is to take someone who knows it well. Gates is respected on both the right and left on Capitol Hill and if he carries out Obama's orders that is all that matters.

9. Frankly, I'd settle for eight more years of Clinton-era peace and prosperity.
It may not qualify as "real" change for some of us, but it would come as a hell of a relief to me.

11. And that's why I'm not utterly disappointed.
I just wanted to see more new faces and ideas than I've seen. And, by new, I don't necessarily mean young or inexperienced - just folks who haven't been in and out of the White House for years.

Like I said, I'm not disappointed, but I'm not rip-roaring excited, either.

The peace or the prosperity?

17. Which part of my post did you not read?
All of it? Or some of it?

I just said I was not UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED implied from the other post I was answering as: because the Clinton years were fine. I said I was saddened that there are so few non-recycled people who have fresh and new ideas. This is 2008, not 1992.

And, I'm still not excited.

15. she'll be confirmed. Bill Clinton is doing whatever it
takes to help his wife. he is releasing everything from his global initiative org. and won't continue to hold contributions from countries overseas that donated to his org before.

He said. He will do anything to make this possible and won't be a burden on his wife.

13. I am VERY PLEASED WITH hillary as SOS. as much
as she pissed me off durign the primaries she definetely came back in support of Barack and her PARTY. First and foremost, she has demonstrated she is a DEMOCRAT first and holds Democratic ideas firmly. As much as the media wants to continue to divide us with the rhetoric that the "left" is angry and not satisfy with President-Elect Obama's appointment, i am in FULL SUPPORT of his decision making so far. I don't care what the media say. These people whoever or whatever his ideas WERE, they will be working and reporting to Obama's VISION NOW.

I am very proud of Obama and Hillary Clinton. FORGET THE MEDIA!.

18. I hear ya! This whole thing "sinks in" for me in increments. I'm still pinching myself.
On election night, I think I was still in a state of disbelief that it really happened. I love the daily realizations that yet another area I hadn't thought about will change. The press conference this morning was stunning, and brought tears to my eyes.

20. Remember the horrors of that happening in reverse, in 2000/2001
...and for some time afterward, as we realized bit by bit more things that the Bushies had control of, and could use to do damage to our country and the world.

That, of course, is an important part of why this is so sweet and so amazing.

19. i'm with you wndy
there is a certain section of the population that just bitches about everything. these are generally unhappy people. that is how they engage the world.

but i voted for the smartest guy i have seen running for pres since jimmy carter. and i think that he is smarter. maybe even smart enough to prevent a similar fate for himself.

and it is great to have the western white house here in our city.
