The rightwingers are probably drooling over the thought of seeing all those names, and throwing little stink bombs for the foreseeable future..
Whether or not HRC will/would make the best SoS ever, is not the issue.. I am upset that the donor list/finances/etc were not part of the PRE- offer/announcement phase, instead of "during the next 6 months or so", as was announced by media types..
Would a boss hire you, and then say.."oh by the way, during the next six months or so, we'd like to see your resume and do a background check on you"?
Vetting was supposedly a stumbling block for the vice-presidency, but for SoS, it can be done "later"?
Before people pile on , I am concerned about the efficacy of a SoS who goes to...say, India or Pakistan, and instead of the trip being covered by the press for its merits, all the questions are about Mr or Mrs So-and-So's $XXXK donation to the library/charity/foundation, or how the donation arrived shortly after a meeting the SoS had while she was a senator on an official visit.. (this event did happen..not sure of the dollar amount though)..
The appearance of conflict of interest is oozing forth, even before a single official meeting takes place.
It cannot be avoided now, but it could have been.
