He's not President yet
quit breaking his chops and wringing your hands over his 'governance' or lack thereof. He hasn't even picked out the drapes yet! It amazes me how much angst is going around here. 49 days folks. If you don't understand that number, you never wanted to be part of the solution.

1. It seems like they grew this image of Obama that made him something
Edited on Tue Dec-02-08 09:21 AM by Gman
that they envisioned in the perfect president including to the left of Che Guevarra. Obama never was that liberal to begin with. But the guy can give a speech that grew these self-imposed illusions by many here that Obama was, in fact, a purist too.

4. "They" is the spectre of the "them."
You know that "they" are only the ugly reflection of "us."

There is a very interesting thing about "they." It only exists as a contrast to "us."

If "us" doesn't see anything but "us" the "they" problem goes away.

But then "we" couldn't embrace our moral superiority over "them," and there would be absolutely no fun in that.

5. Well then he needs to quit acting like it! :-)
He keeps reminding us "there is only one President at a time..." I get it.

So we have one guy telling us, on almost a daily basis, how he plans to fix our economy and improve our standing in the eyes of the world.

And we have the OTHER guy pardoning turkeys.

Yes, Mr. Obama, I get it .... there IS only one President at a time.

And I'm glad it's YOU.

6. With 49 Days to go...
...it amazes me how he seems to be growing into the job with every passing press conference.

I don't expect that I'll agree with him 100% of the time over 4 (hopefully 8) years, but he has earned an ENORMOUS benefit of the doubt to go along with the massive mess he's inheriting.

BTW, for what it's worth (I think somewhat south of a nickel), I was a Hillary supporter early on Our new Prez to be needs our support at this time, not nit-picking. He knows what he's doing.

Perhaps even we have gotten so conditioned to 8 years of a stupid front-man president that we've forgotten what a man who is really in charge can accomplish.

PEACE!

7. I am truly surprised at how spastic and whiny some have been
Some try to claim that this board represents the well informed voter. That is not apparent when reading many of the posts.

I amazing the amount of criticism Obama is receiving when he hasn't even taken office.

It's going to be real ugly once he takes office.

8. Actually,
he's not the President-Elect yet either under the Constitution. He's only called that under a 1963 act which allows money to be spent on the transition.

10. It's not "Nitpickitis"
It's important for the same reason it's always been important, because so few people understand our electoral process. To call an expectation of voters to understand what they're doing "Nitpicking" is silly. DU is supposed to be the best and smartest, right?

11. Do you think the election will be overturned? If not, what is the point?
I sit here day by day wondering why we have to be lectured on the intricacies of each electoral vote. WE WON, deal with it.
