I had a moment of Schadenfreude today (((PICS)))
Philosopher and sociologist Theodor Adorno defined schadenfreude as “largely unanticipated delight in the suffering of another which is cognized as trivial and/or appropriate.” - teh Wikipedia

I was looking through the Yahoo/AP news photo pages to see if there were any shots of Barack Obama, perhaps meeting more personally with Sarah Palin @ today's Governor conference. I didn't find any but I did find a few photos that led me to an image searching journey that gave me "largely unanticipated delight in the suffering of another".

I know I'm supposed to feel bad for these people but I don't. We're all adults and we beat them by 9 million votes. (I told you guys that we would win if we overwhelmed the opposition at the polls and that is exactly what happened. I was right. We were right and "the right" was wrong.) As I said, I wish I could feel sorry for these people but I don't because they were ugly, hateful and all-around mean. If they do nothing but whelp and moan for the next four years, they'll get little sympathy from me. I don't have to be magnanimous but I'll be civil - as civil as I was while they gloated, bloated, bullied and stole for the last 8 years.

Nevertheless, there comes a point when one ponders on the past so much, they get stuck in it. Consider this my final look back as I point and laugh at 59 million losers, whom I hope, will come to realize that they really won:

The night - November 4, 2008 - started out feisty enough. There were balloons and kisses and funny outfits:

Then, the inevitable began to sink in:

As the truth became clear, things got a wee bit emotional:

Their perky queen revealed the first display of human emotion the public had ever seen:

The once-respected Senator delivered an eloquent and elegant concession speech. If he had taken this tone during the campaign, he might not have lost by 9 million votes:

Then the candidates and their families said ther goodbyes and they split:

Stunned McCain campaign volunteers packed up their crappy merchandise, shredded their caging lists and crawled back to their homes, defeated and and wondering "what the hell just happened?"

And all that was left of the once, grand old party, were stiff and lifeless reminders of just how low they had fallen:

22. They'recoming from Yahoo images
Maybe you've got some sort of blocking thingy preventing you from viewing them. If you're using Firefox, try right-click > view image.

6. Ha, those cardboard cut-outs remind me of two funny episodes
One involving me.

I'm a part time magician/balloon twister in Tulsa, and one of the magic/costume stores also sells cardboard cutouts from Elvira to Darth Maul. A few years ago, I walked in and asked the owner (a republican but a good guy) that I noticed he had finally given up on Bush. He asked me what the hell I was talking about, and I said, "I'm referring to your placement of a George W. Bush cutout next to the 3 Stooges in the window." He thought it was funny but still moved it next to a cutout of some Wizard of Oz characters so I asked him, "So, now you're saying that W. is a 'friend of Dorothy?'" He didn't move it that time because he figured he couldn't win.

At the Tulsa State Fair, I heard secondhand that one of the clowns wandering around found the republican booth which had McCain and Palin cutouts, and he asked them how much the dartboards were. They weren't amused.

13. Reminds me of the old joke
I just might call the White House after January 20 and ask to speak to President Bush, just to hear the beautiful words "Mr. Bush is no longer President. Barack Obama is President now".

This one is my favorite.

I'd love to know what state had just gone over to Obama when that photo was taken!
