It sounds like Eric Holder is going to be dealing with a Repuke fire storm
when he goes through confirmation hearings. He'll be confirmed anyway, but the long knives are being sharpened.

1. Hmmm
I hope this means they think he'll be trouble. I also hope they really p*ss him off so he'll be very willing to investigate them.

9. Can't have too many Black folks at the top of the food chain,
Top Cop is powerful indeed.

Guess if they are out to get him, it makes him that much more to my liking.

14. It not a black thing.
it's about the Rich pardon, which Holder approved.

Maybe now folks will remember it was a favor from Clinton to Israeli PM Barak, who was voted out because of the Summer '00 Middle East peace negotiations. Barak asked Bubba to do it.

16. This was reported on, and it didn't appear that Holder was really
much involved at the time, nor was he implicated at the time.

What's really Rich, is that a President is supposed to have the right to pardon.....but it appears that Bill Clinton was almost not afforded such respect. That's kind of discriminatory.

Back to the "race" issue....I'm glad that the Top Cop will be a Black Man. I find that Rich in many ways as well.

Richard Cohen's column today:

I agree, it's a non-issue.

At least Bubba - unlike GHWB and GWB - didn't pardon anyone related to White House duty or anything like that.

I want Bush out NOW!

10. The date hasn't been set yet.
He (Leahy) also said he would check with Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), the ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee, before setting a date for Holder’s nomination hearing. But he said he hopes the Senate could move quickly to confirm a “package” of top Justice officials about the time Barack Obama takes office as president. “My idea would be to go boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,” Leahy said.
