Obama Is Screwing Up Big Time!
I mean, he must be! All these posters here on DU are upset with him about one thing or another, and he hasn't even been sworn in yet! It's kind of hard to estimate just how horrible a job he'll do when he does take over now. I'm concerned.

2. I think the OP was being sarcastic.
But I agree with you -- generally speaking.

5. Yeah, I Don't Use The "Sarcasm" Smilie Much...
I guess I should, but sometimes it's more fun not to.

4. Well to counter that...
I'm so damn happy with our new President it is absolutely sickening. This is coming from a person who was very late in jumping on the bandwagon. Actually, Hillary had to bow out before I threw my support behind him. I'm not generally a Kool-Aid drinker. I found out the other day I'm from Generation Jones, and supposedly we are more pragmatic about things, which I believe is true. I see what President Obama is doing, and I like it so far. The man has a HUGE task and responsibility, and the entire planet is looking to him. I don't think many people could deal with that as well as he has so far.

I'm almost a new person--the person I remember being back in 2000. It's wonderful! I feel at peace. I'm not angry all the time. People at work have even noticed the improvement, and think it's because I'm still taking those estrogen pills (I'm not!). I had someone I don't even know too well come up and ask me today what I had been taking.

I read the nasty stuff and my heart sinks, but it's starting not to bother me. I've had to cut down on politics because it seems that people are already jumping on our new President before he's even been given the chance to screw up. It's pointless right now. After 8 years of sheer hell and torture, the majority of the stuff I'm hearing and reading about what our very busy PE Obama is doing is making me ecstatic. I'm convinced that President Obama is going to be one of our best Presidents.

11. It is a shame...
...but I predict around this time next year that some here on DU will hate him almost as much as the Clintons.

13. How many of us have taken on such a FUBAR job?
He had a target on his back when he entered the race and it will only get worse. I'll admit that he wasn't my first choice, but he's been very impressive, in the political sense, and his background suggests that he will do well. I don't agree with his selections for his administration in most cases, especially Gates, but he may have a plan. I say chill out and see what happens after he's sworn in.

He's just a human being as are you and I, he may make some mistakes or accept bad advice. We can't tell until he has the power to change things.
His history shows an interest of serving a greater good and the ability to find the common ground between dissenting voices. I can only judge him by his actions and so far he hasn't had the chance to show me that. Some time after 1/20/2009 I'll start throwing out criticisms.

He's just a man and can only do so much. How much he can do, and what he can do will depend on who is standing behind him for support and who is pulling him toward what the people want.

Which side are you on boy, which side are you on?
