Could you look Hillary in the eye after posting this pic?
"Senator Clinton is pleased to learn of Jon's obvious interest in the State Department, and is currently reviewing his application," he said in an e-mail.

...this is stupid and childish behavior from anyone, let alone a high-ranking member of the Obama Administration. Frankly, it depresses me a lot. Okay, the guy's 27. But given his accomplishments thus far, and the faith Obama has put in him, he's not supposed to be acting like an overgrown frat boy. He better smarten up quick. Honestly, I don't get it. What's this say about his judgement? Sorry. Not impressed.

This does not show him in a good light - but, it is not that serious and he apologized to Clinton. There are things Hillary herself did in the primaries that were far worse and mean spirited. At worse, it may mean that he won't be asked to write speeches for HRC to give - which would be her loss.

20. Threads like this depress me.

I like to think I am with the people who put the party into Party politics. Republicans are the party of the Moral Majority and who raised the drinking age, pushed MADD upon us, keeps ramping up the war on some drugs, etc.

But then I see these threads and find so many prudish people who wouldn't know a good time if it hit them.

On the other hand, at the point I write this it seems split about 50-50 which is better than usual.

Hillary Clinton married Bill Clinton. You don't do that if you don't have a sense of humor.

Yeah, he was probably drunk and/or blowing off steam, having a good time. It's actually a funny pic, and the cutout certainly looks like she's enjoying herself.

Hillary will look at him sternly when she first meets him, make him grovel, and then give him a big smile.

It's not a big deal, and certainly not a deal breaker.

just think, if that were Palin, she'd have been winking her excitement over being thought hot enough to grope in a cardboard cut out kinda way.

I love Hillary's sense of humor here. It says so much about how well she handles herself, and how she knows when to make an issue out of something and when not to. Oh, I give thanks everyday that we're not dealing with the Palin; her whine would drown out the auto makers and we'd be dealing with her feelings for the next four years instead of real issues.

Thank you Universe!!!!!!

As well, I gotta say that "reached out to Senator Clinton to offer an apology", is one hell of a zinger.

The Washington Post doesn't say who uploaded photo(s) onto Facebook but it does a handy job of conflating Favreau's FB account with the short-lived posting of the picture(s). Other than that, anyone who is shocked by this pic has never spent time observing inebriated young men.

53. Favreau knew he was going to have to work with Hillary after the election
one way or another... those 18 million votes count for something.

I think he was incredibly stupid...but he also needs some education in terms of what women find offensive.

I don't think he would have liked his girlfriend, sister, wife, or mother treated this way especially by someone with whom she would work with in the future.

He's on the national stage and knows he needs to take sensitivities into account.

55. I'm writing it off as youthful indiscretion.
cause with young people, as far back as history would show,
shit happens.

If one isn't forgiven for what they do at age 27,
then we are going to be in very bad shape in the future,
if we shelve our best and brightest based on the sillyness
they might participate in at a relatively young age.....
and 27 is young enough.

It reminds me of how the Federal Government has that Bush rule,
that young people who say they have taken drugs,
can't apply for financial aid.

Not because he isn't an incredibly talented speech writer... he obviously is... but because of reasons such as this. I am sure there is a speech writer out there who possesses just as much talent as he does but is 34 or 40 or something. Maturity does matter.
