Nearly 30 years after President Jimmy Carter signed the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the United States remains the only democracy that refuses to ratify the most significant treaty guaranteeing gender equality. One hundred eighty-five countries, including over 90 percent of members of the United Nations, have ratified CEDAW.

This is interesting, I learned something from it and it makes a strong case.

It's nice to see an article that encourages Obama to do something progressive without resorting to exaggerated claims about him moving right or how he's forgetting women etc. It's a well reasoned argument made in a positive way. I wish that wasn't so hard to find these days.

that bill is a bit extreme with the radical feminism and could cost obama a ton of independent and moderate votes in 2012. I know my post wont be popular here but its the truth.
