Obama Campaign Staff and Hillary Campaign Staff
Just as a reminder that these people were incredibly hard working people, primarily young, idealistic, and on both sides were doing for the most part what they thought was in the best interest for the country.

During the Primary and the General Election I had the fine opportunity to work with many of these individuals. Generally speaking they were at the office by 8 and left anywhere between 11pm to 3am depending what was going on. They generally got an average of anywhere between 4-6 hours a sleep during the week and almost none on the weekends when things were most busy.

These were the organizers...now I can't imagine what it was like for the people that were working above that level. I'm pretty sure they were on constant call espicially if you were a speech writer. Events in the world happen at lightning speed and the person who prepares remarks for the candidates needs to be able to provide the candidate with ideas on how to frame their views the next day. They have to be knowledgeable about what just happened and the background to prevent the candidate for making a costly gaffe that will overshadow the candidate's message for that news cycle.

So if a 27 year old gifted speech writer when he found sometime to unwind did something stupid with a cardboard cutout of the candidate he had to write speeches for months about that hurt no one other than the fact it was tasteless I think we should cut the guy some slack.

This isn't April anymore. President Elect Obama and Secretary of State designee Clinton literally work together not for a Campaign but for us. There aren't political points or gotcha's to be made.

Not making excuses but trying to put things in perspective and that's all I have to say about that.

1. It was tacky to take the picture and stupid to have pictures enabled on his facebook
For a guy who is right at the heart of high stakes politics he should definitely know better. That said, even smart people do dumb things every now and then.

I did dumber things at 27 than that...I'm sure we all have.

8. I'm 21 and I'm sure I will do some extremely dumb things in the next few years
And in fairness to Favreau, he wasn't really a person of interest until after Obama won. But still after seeing how much stuff about politicians' kids gets out on facebook, every campaign should really have someone reminding the younger staffers about this kind of thing.

10. I don't think it was on his page
but the other guy in the picture. I could be wrong though.

12. It probably had Favreau tagged, though
I don't know if you're familiar with facebook but if Favreau was tagged it means that someone could be browsing through his profile and find such a picture. If Favreau had disabled that option then nobody could find the picture from browsing his profile.

Now either way someone could find it from browsing the other guy's profile. But the probability of it getting out is much lower that way because most people aren't going to be browsing the pictures of some random guy to find incriminating pictures of Favreau.

3. I've been gone for a week so thankfully missed this dust-up, though
did track down what happened on DU. Then I googled the perp's name. Seems DU is a tad more obsessed than anyone else?

since late July. I'll stand by my record as far as being supportive of Sec of State designee Clinton and her supporters after the primary was over.

I was never against SOS Clinton I was always for President Obama.

13. Well alright, then fine, I don't care if he black felt pens sunglasses & go-tees on Michelle...
Obama's pics in his spare 'free time'; I mean let's do get a grip here I'm all for that...but *if* this "27 year old gifted speech writer" doesn't even care for, or much less understand the images he's capable of just tossing out there like chicken scratch in the dirt...

What is he being paid for? God Bless America; I suppose, cause if he pulled a stunt like that w/Putin's wife we'd all be thrown into the muddy trenches of a nuclear winter and because why again,

He landed his dream job @ 27, and he needs a 'release'? Well then God Bless'im, but then it's all like: So much for 'hope & change'

15. WTF?
Making a little jump there?

Do we even know when the picture was taken? My guess is during or right after the primaries....it's not uncommon for there to be dartboards with the opposing candidate on them. An election is different than foriegn policy.

Please tell me when Obama will have an Election against Putin's wife.

This is a world of symbols within cultures you clearly no little about and whether you understand that is immaterial, it's time to start being smart about the world but we have to start right here where we live and it is my belief that only the diluted are not aware of that

16. Hillary has broad shoulders.
An adult will not take offense at a person who was celebrating with alcohol. I think we saw her throw a few back in a less than tasteful display on the campaign trail. We forgave her without rubbing her nose in it. To a polished woman like Hill, this means nothing .
