I keep wondering whether he will be bold enough to go against corporate interests.

1. absolutely dead on . . . I've been saying this for months . . .

the true test of Obama will be his willingness to engage the corporations head-on . . . strict re-regulation, taking corporate money out of political campaigns, restricting CEO pay, mandating transparency, substantially reducing corporate influence in Congress and, perhaps most importantly, ending corporate personhood . . .

progress on every other issue he wants/needs to address -- the war, health care, the environment, energy, etc. -- will depend on how well he is able to strip corporations of much of their accumulated influence and ultimately restore citizen authority over corporations . . . the question is not only whether he has the wherewithal to do this -- it's also whether he has the desire . . . to make any real progress anywhere, though, he really will have no choice . . .

2. Of course he will. He doesn't even have to be all that bold.

He has more than a mandate to reform the way corporations do business and the way they interact with our government. Tax rates is one thing, but CEO pay, transparency, reforming the lobbying industry? People have been screaming out for these changes since the Enron days. Bush (and Al-Queda I guess) just distracted everyone with megafearmode and let the shit continue and get worse.
