20. You know what's so odd, Matcom?
You used to speak out on things quite freely. So did a lot of DUers. Years ago, I never did. Now I do.

A funny thing happened. I posted a post that did not mention Obama's name, was not about him...but people are so sensitive here they think it was about him. That's how touchy we are getting to criticism.

I've been saying we all need to stfu since the election. I'm confused at one response I received above... I don't recall being critical of Obama in any way since he won the primary. I defended Hillary at times, and I'm sure I was labeled a Hillary supporter by many. I hate labels. I mean, I really fucking hate labels. Seems you can't discuss anything around here without being labeled, and tied to one of any number of whipping posts. I'm pretty sick of it. I feel for the mods... jeez.

Eventually, a space will be found between total support and total opposition where people can talk about the Obama administration. Until then, it may be a little messy.

But, that doesn't mean any of us have to give anything up. I plan to enjoy the hell out of these days we have between now and Jan 21. It's been a long f'ing fourty years. Seriously. :)

36. For some it is force of habit, I mean 8 years of bitching at the admin
is going to be a hard habit for many to break.

Then there are those who have fear of success, they don't know what it is like to trust the admin, to be happy about the government, so they sabotage any hope for success.

Then there are those that attack now so that if and/or when Obama does mess up, they aren't so hurt or disappointed.

Personally, I never expected perfection, Obama never promised it. I do expect him to try to do the best he can do - I believe that is the type of man he is. It will be strange having a good man in office, it will take some getting used to.

I'm not an old name around here, and I don't want to intrude...but I sure miss the feeling before the election. I'm tired of being attacked on here for defending Obama. Every day, I have a moment where I fear the alternative universe that could have been....and I give such deep thanks for the sanity we have...and deep thanks that despite the msm, we got our guy. The country redeemed itself. The people are worthwhile; they thought for themselves. And I feel great about it. It's a miracle to me. So much was on the line.

I'm not letting anyone bring me off this long awaited spiritual high.

You, mf:

Me:
You either either spun that or you were just plain wrong.

You, mf:
What am I wrong about? Could you be more specific instead of accusing?

Me, now:
You replied to texastoast spinning/wrong that he was referring to the babies as "those who got us into the horrible mess...". To which he replied to you: "No, I mean the babies who think that "poof" it's all changed." And you spun that or were wrong, because you then wrote that ".. it sounds like it meant the ones who got us into this mess knew better". Which is like saying that texastoast didn't even know what he/she wrote, which is either spin or wrong on your part. Mainly because the babies could not have got us into this mess, since, well, they are innocent (until now) babies.

But the issue is not being addressed so I understand it.

Making fun of others is fun for some, but it is unproductive in the long run.

51. I agree all this, he is making mistakes and ruining stuff.
He has not taken office yet, he is not president yet, he does not have any say over what is done at this moment. I think his choices for cabinet positions are fine. He has done a good job working through who in HIS OPINION would be the best candidate for the job and who he can work with well. Remember he is the boss of his cabinet, if one of his choices does not do what he says, he can fire them. He just did not start filling positions with buddies and crap like Bush did. So for one that is a big change compared to the current.

But let's give him a chance to get sworn into office and start work. Christ, he has to been in the position first.

Is he on meth or energizer batteries?

He just never quits.

Or, he could be powered by hope!

70. They can't take it away if you don't let them...
You know, the neurotics who can't accept peace or be happy. The purists who see a lot of black and very little white, usually through a tunnel. And the rest who just like a good fight.

The ones for whom every silver lining must have a cloud.

Just do your best to ignore them and be happy that we've taken one very large step ahead.
