Look out for the next round of Blago bull shit.
Maybe I'm dumb, but until I looked at the facts, I was worried by reports of conversations between Blago and members of Obama's staff. Contrary to some news reports, however, Obama has never denied the existence of such contacts. He said that no one on his staff had been involved in any "deals" with Blago. And he said: "I've asked my team to gather the facts of any contacts with the governor's office about this vacancy so that we can share them with you over the next few days." That suggests that there probably were contacts and conversations.

I predict that in the next few days you'll hear a lot of "revelations" about contacts and conversations between Blago and members of Obama's staff. The explicit or implicit suggestion will be that this contradicts earlier claims by Obama that no such contacts took place. Just remember that Obama himself never said that his staff didn't talk to Blago about the vacant Senate seat.

1. I don't doubt there were contacts between Blago and the PEBO people
Of course, Obama likely wanted some input into who was going to get his seat. HOWEVER, the Blago mess was created by Blago himself, who thought he could make a buck off of it. And, it's been made PERFECTLY clear by Fitz's office that the Obama people REFUSED to play Blago's game.

Obama's role in the Blago mess is non-existent, by all accounts.

4. I agree but parts of he media will still try to generate interest by
playing up any interaction between Obama's staff and Blago.

2. He will become irrelevant in a matter of hours
when the stock market tanks.

And when GM fails next week if some sanity is not restored to DC today, everyone will go "who?" and then shoot you for your food.

3. Talking to the Obama team is why he called Obama a motherf****er
Edited on Fri Dec-12-08 07:52 AM by GloriaSmith
Talking to them is how Blago discovered he wasn't going to get paid for the senate seat.

I'm tired of the MSM pretending that simply talking to this guy is a scandal. He's the Governor of Illinois, of course people talked to him! I would be shocked if members of Obama's transition team didn't talk to him. It's what they said that matters and the FBI has already said that Obama has nothing to do with the charges.
