I am surprised the repukes didn't do better this last election.
Only seven years after 9*11, with two known wars on.

Obama ran a great campaign, there is no doubt. And an effective one as well, the results speak for themselves.

But how they fell in the last eight years. bush was riding high on zombie populartiy; yellow and orange alert levels were all the rage.

Mushroom clouds over American cities. I hear and obey.

Thought it was done with in 2004, but no, it was close, too close. They won again.

george w bush was voted into office by the American people for a second time*

wtf?

I mean, if they could pull that off, what hope did we have for 2008?

Ripples eventually fade, is my conclusion.

And palin was poison.

Yeah, again, Obama ran a great campaign. Phenomenal. On our side, that was great. On the repuke side, tho, they blew it big time. They fell apart. They turned into a circus with palin. She played the fear and war-mongering act, but with her "jumped the shark a long time ago" persona, the "BOO-TERRORIST" scare-a-thon wearing thin with a populace grown weary, it fell flat.

The party that had held a large portion of the people in a "vote Dem = vote terrorist" daze looked like an amateur act this time around. They really sucked.

I dunno.

I think they could have given us much more of a run than they did.

Not that the result would have been any different.

1. You cant deny that America is STILL a nation filled with fear....
in this election, however, the fear was of 4 more years of Monkeyboy politics.

2. I'm surprised that we didn't win by more than 60% of the vote!
It doesn't surprise me that they lost in 2008. While Obama did very well I think he or any democrat should have done much better given two mismanaged wars, one totally unnecessary, a collapsing economy and the clear incompetence of the administration. That 46% of the American people still voted for the Republican party that brought all of this about is what surprises me.

3. I agree. Obama should have captured 75%+ of the vote.
It should have been more than just an Electoral vote landslide. No one in their right mind should voted for McSame...but maybe that answers that question. I am beginning to have serious doubts about the mental capacity of most Americans. They have been so dumbed down by the media, both in its less than credible reporting, and by the advertizing that fills it. Adding to the deterioration of the American intellect is the destruction of the public education system, from the elementary level right thru to college.

6. The Repugs couldn't control
Katrina
The War
The Collapsing Bridge
The Economy

They own em and Americans know it.....if it weren't for those things they might still be in power and we would be looking at McCain/Palin and the destruction of America.
