When/IF THE President (elect) Obama issues a statement on this shoe incident.
I hope the the jerks in the Republican party take note of how eloquent, professional, and sensible President Obama's comment will be, and how well he manages to put things in perspective. While it is easy for us to laugh at what happened to Bush today, the fact of the matter President Obama wasn't smiling when he heard what happened.

Just like Bush takes everything else as a joke, he failed to realize the significance of what happened to him today. While he smiled and joked about it to the other members of the press, with that stupid smirk on his face, President Obama was no doubt thinking at that moment that this is just another example of how America has lost the respect of much of the rest of the world, most notably the Islamic world. It just further proves how deep the disdain and frustration, from not just citizens around the world, but journalist from other countries, that have seen this man (Bush) strut around the world with his little smirk and blissful ignorance never the wiser to just how his actions and horrible decision have festered a contempt for his own self and unfortunately with the the country, that he has been in charge of for the last eight years.

So while people in the republican party will no doubt try and spin this with some laughter, and I have myself laughed at it as well, it will be President Obama that has to bring some dignity to this situation that never should have happened in the first place, and when President Obama takes office in January, he will have to then set out to provide real change and heal the dissidence in the places that Bush has bombed, destroyed, and just trashed on his eight year journey to destroying this country.

Others will say it better than I can, and have, but damnit can't this man (Bush) stay in the damn white house until he officially leaves office. Is that too much to ask.

1. While I hope he issues no statement
he probably will just because he is classier than I would be. I agree with your sentiments.

2. He'll probably have to have some kind of answer prepared.
Some journalist is almost sure to ask him about it.
