2. I watched my 4 yo cousin coloring with his left hand.....
Edited on Sun Dec-14-08 08:21 PM by Clio the Leo
.... today at lunch and smiled. How lucky is he to spend his formative years with Barack in the White House and how lucky to have such a great man to aspire to become like. (He's African American and the child of a single mother.)

I have this running joke with my family that I'm not allowed to Google during lunch because it's impolite. So as a humorous reason to pull out my icrack I said, "Lemme tell you about Prince Barack who came from the North West and destroyed the Evil Lord Bushy."

My little cousin just rolled his eyes and shook his head as if to say, "oh no! There she goes again!"

He then switched his crayon to his RIGHT hand and began to color with it. Guess he hasn't made his mind up yet.

3. HEY! I noticed something he DIDN'T SIGN!
A US Flag.

Unlike our current president, i suspect Obama has too much respect for the flag to deface it.

9. Funny you should mention signing flags...
...there was one photo I didn't include because I just thought it was so upsetting....

ST. LOUIS - FEBRUARY 2: Lisa Wells-Blackmon (C) of St. Louis weeps as Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) signs the flag that covered her brother's casket during a rally at the Edward Jones Dome Feburary 2, 2008 in St. Louis, Missouri. Wells-Blackomon's brother was in the military and killed in Afghanistan.

I could be wrong, but I have never seen Barack Obama sign any other flag, but under these circumstances he really had no choice. Heartbreaking, but maybe it brought some small comfort to Lisa Wells-Blackmon and her family. May her brother rest in peace.

11. And he's signing it on the white edge
not on the actual field of the flag.

He's not defacing it.

5. Looking at some of those LONG tables of books...
you know, he didn't have to do that. But isn't it great that he did. :)

#41 is very sweet - anyone know the story?

8. Hi JoeIsOneOfUs, the caption on that photo (41) -
Democratic presidential hopeful, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., signs an autograph on a school presentation for Nafiz Hardnett, in white, as he campaigns door to door in Philadelphia, Saturday, April 19, 2008.

7. the reason he writes like that is no one taught him to turn the paper
the other way so that he could lay his hand on it and write normally, not upside down. I never allowed my lefties to do that. I wanted them to like writing.

13. I have a signed copy of his book
"The Audacity of Hope" that he signed at the Texas Book festival. And now he's my President. I'm so proud of him! When he signed it B.O. I was kind of bummed but I found out later that is how he signs things.

:yourock: B.O.
