BREAKING-Obama transition team: Review of contacts with Blagojevich complete.
Edited on Mon Dec-15-08 03:15 PM by jenmito
But the info. won't be released 'til Dec. 22nd. They said there were no inappropriate contacts. But why won't they put it out?

No link-breaking on MSNBC.

1. Waiting to release was AT FITZGERALD'S REQUEST
They kept in contact with Fitzgerald throughout the process and Fitzgerald requested they keep details of the internal review private until at least December 22.

4. Did you hear that or read that somewhere? If so, I'm releaved and just hope
that info. is put out there. Maybe Obama himself will say that today. All I heard so far is he won't release it 'til the 22nd and at least on MSNBC they're "wondering" why he just won't put it out there now.

7. Straight from Dan Pfeiffer (Obama Transition Team Communications Director)
At the direction of the President-elect, a review of Transition staff contacts with Governor Blagojevich and his office has been conducted and completed and is ready for release. That review affirmed the public statements of the President-elect that he had no contact with the governor or his staff, and that the President-elect's staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator.

Also at the President-elect's direction, Gregory Graig, counsel to the Transition, has kept the US Attorney's office informed of this fact-gathering process in order to ensure our full cooperation with the investigation.

In the course of those discussions, the US Attorney's office requested the public release of the Transition review be deferred until the week of December 22, in order not to impede their investigation of the governor. The Transition has agreed to this revised timetable for release.

2. "But why won't they put it out?" Easy
They want the media and the GOP to salivate and then be disappointed.

10. but Fitz is out to screw the Democrats with this entire blago affair
and obviously the Obama team is too stupid to know that they're being played.

At least that what I expect someone to claim.

14. Not to mention Obama hasn't fixed the economy, ended the war or
stopped global warming yet and he's been almost president for over a month! What a slacker.

18. what part of this garbage did you not understand to be so damn worried about the release of docs?
The indictment was very very clear that Obama would not participate in any "pay to play". Blago used expletives to describe Obama and his attitude...

There was never any there there. The media was grasping at straws to get ratings. Why were you?

17. Nohra O'Donnell is so upsetting. She keeps asking in this pseudo-prosecutorial nagging voice
"doesn't the fact that Emanuel spoke to Blago make it really bad for the Obama team?" (and I bet she wants to say "criminal") What is with these jerks!
