Conservatives worry Obama isn't ingnorant enough...
Obama Assembles an Ivy-Tinged League

<snip>The Ivy-laced network taking hold in Washington is drawing scorn from many conservatives, who have in recent decades decried the leftward drift of academia and cast themselves as defenders of regular Americans against highbrow snobbery. Joseph Epstein wrote in the latest Weekly Standard -- before noting that former president Ronald Reagan went to Eureka College -- that "some of the worst people in the United States have gone to the Harvard or Yale Law Schools . . . since these institutions serve as the grandest receptacles in the land for our good students: those clever, sometimes brilliant, but rarely deep young men and women who, joining furious drive to burning if ultimately empty ambition, will do anything to get ahead." </snip>

2. Yeah, Yale and Harvard just churn out
tons of losers. :sarcasm:

WTF is wrong with these people? Do they really want idiots running this country? Or are they just intimidated by smart people who they can't manipulate?

5. Oh yeah, competence is a b!tch, ain't it?
It's really difficult to manipulate when everyone is as knowledgeable as you are. Really, really scary stuff for the conservatives. Really scary.

6. Leftward drift of academia my ass!
Funny how the wingnuts don't ever seem to notice the obvious neo-con bias of so many Business and Econ departments. I had to take some macro-economics class to finish my degree back in '03 and my professor was salivating over the Iraq invasion. Far as he was concerned, grabbing the oil and enriching defense contractors was a win-win. Needless to say, he luuurved free trade too. IIRC he was a Princeton grad.
