Pakistan/India,, a nightmare getting ready to boil over
Two nuclear armed countries, ready to take each other on..

SLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistani troops have been moved to the Indian border amid fears of an Indian ground incursion, two Pakistani military officials told CNN on Friday.

The troops were deployed from Pakistan's western border with Afghanistan, where forces have been battling Taliban and al Qaeda militants in North West Frontier Province and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

Pakistan's armed forces have been on high alert in anticipation of a possible conflict with India following last month's terrorist attacks in Mumbai, which killed 160 people.

India believes the 10 men who carried out the attacks were trained at a terrorist camp in the Pakistani-controlled part of Kashmir.

A senior official said the troops had been moved from areas where there are no active military operations, and emphasized that troop levels have not been depleted in areas where soldiers are battling militants, such as the Swat Valley and near Peshawar, capital of the North West region.

In addition to the move, leave for all military personnel has been restricted and all troops were called back to active duty, the senior official said.

4. I have three songs going through my head right now...
The Doors - The End

Cat Stevens - Peace Train

Ozzy Osbourne - Thank God for the Bomb

Like moths to a flame
Is man never gonna change
Times seen untold aggression
And infliction of pain
If thats the only thing thats stopping war

Then thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb

Nuke ya nuke ya

War is just another game
Tailor made for the insane
But make a threat of their annihilation
And nobody wants to play
If thats the only thing that keeps the peace

Then thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb

Nuke ya nuke ya

Today was tommorow yesterday
Its funny how the time can slip away
The face of the doomsday clock
Has launched a thousand wars
As we near the final hour
Time is the only foe we have

When war is obsolete
Ill thank God for wars defeat
But any talk about hell freezing over
Is all said with tongue in cheek
Until the day the war drums beat no more

Ill thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb
Thank God for the bomb

Nuke ya nuke ya

to destroy us all if they start setting them off.

Since the division of the subcontinent in 1947, India and Pakistan have fought three wars, including two over the disputed territory of Kashmir -- now wracked by an 18-year, bloody separatist campaign that authorities say has left at least 43,000 dead. There also was a limited border conflict in 1999 between the countries in Kashmir.

10. Song #4 - Kashmir
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait, all will be revealed

Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relay, the story was quite clear
Ohh

Oh, oh
Oh, oh

Oooh, baby I've been Flying... Mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oooh yeah, I've been Flying, Mama ain't no denyin', no denyin'

All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I've been.

Oh, pilot of the storm that leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream
You've the map that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that blows high in June, when moving through Kashmir.

Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
ohh

When I'm on, when I'm on my way, yeah
When I see, when I see the way they stay, yeah

Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I'm down...
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oooh, my baby, let me take you there

Let me take you there
Let me take you there

14. It just seemed
that this was such a great opportunity to do something different in response. Like not let these terrorists provoke a wider conflict.

Truly a nightmare. They are soon going to be watching for the other to blink. The South Asian Cold War could quickly become very hot.

16. This happened in 1999 also, but tensions were defused
It's a worry, but I doubt it amounts to more than saber rattling. Neither country would benefit from a nuclear exchange and neither has especially jingoistic governments at present. Even a conventional shooing war looks pretty unlikely to me.

18. Honestly, I don't think this is going to develop into anything
The Indian government has been fairly restrained -- repeatedly, publicly, ruling out going to war. (Not to say they aren't above criticism -- they've bungled several other things -- but their response has been fairly light.) Even the Indian opposition -- which initially tried to wave the bloody shirt -- has toned down the rhetoric after they lost a couple major state elections while trying to play the "terror" card.

What this is is the Pakistani government, which is very weak, trying to promote the idea that India's going to attack them in order to shore up their position and co-opt hardliners.
