Has the Palin baby been born yet?
Haven't read a word about it, but the baby would be quite late now according to the announced due date and I'm surprised Bristol hasn't been induced yet if she hasn't gone into labor on her own. I tend to think Sarah is keeping a news blackout on the baby until after the holidays when people are paying attention again and she can get a cute Grandma picture of herself and baby into all the papers and on tv. And until some of the bad publicity about Levi's drug dealer mother dies down. You can be sure she has a plan to use this baby for her own benefit.

1. just stop already.
the more attention we give her here ends up driving the MSM to cover her even more often.

3. Keep in mind that
a "due date" is simply an estimate, and babies are generally born within three weeks before or after that date. It's NOT the date by which the baby is guaranteed to arrive.

A niece of mine finally had her first baby on the 22nd of this month (my oldest son's birthday!) about three weeks after the official due date. Her own mother (my sister) had all three of her babies "late".

Just like a baby that comes a week or two before the official date is not premature, a week or so after the due date is no big deal.

4. LOL. Uh, yes, I do know that.
As a mother of 3 and grandmother of 6 with the 7th due tomorrow, I am fully aware of pregnancy, birth, due dates, etc. However, it is not common practice anymore by most obstetricians to wait more than a week or so to induce labor if all else is normal. Our grandchild due tomorrow will, baring any complications, be induced by next Monday unless he comes on his own first. It used to be standard to wait 2-3 weeks to induce, but not anymore. With modern medical technology docs know with very good accuracy if a baby is just late and ready or if the due date has been miscalculated. Therefore, knowing Bristol was due a week or so before Christmas, I thought maybe I had missed an announcement of birth.

5. Congratulations on all the grandbabies! I'm not a grandma yet, but people tell me
it's a great joy.

I, too, am awaiting the birth announcement of the Palin baby. I guess my curiosity stems from all the creative stories spun by the Governor. And considering how close she came to being President, and the strong role so many Republicans expect from her in the party, I think character and truth count.

6. I'm of the opinion
that inducing when a baby is less than a week "late" is foolish. And given my niece's recent experience, there are still docs out there who are willing to let nature take its course. And Miss Palin's doctor may simply be one of those.

And, you surely also know that the "due date" is still only a mid-point, and that despite the advances in technology, some babies simply take longer to be ready to be born than others.

I've actually seen the word premature used when a baby comes a week before the due date, which is a serious misunderstanding of prematurity.

14. Congratulations on your upcoming grandchild!
As for Bristol, there's always the possibility that the December due date given to the press was a lie, to make it look like Trig, who was born in mid-April, really was Sarah's baby. I wouldn't be surprised if Bristol gives birth much later than her announced due date, and then the story will be just that they must have gotten the due date wrong.

7. She would want the media attention if Bristol was 20-something and married
Edited on Sun Dec-28-08 07:03 PM by rainbow4321
We would see all of them on every morning news show, on the cover of People, Parenting magazine...everywhere.
But this is a pregnancy that Palin didn't want to 'fess up to even BEFORE the alleged drug busting granny hit the news. Let's remember she had Bristol hide her stomach using Trig and a baby blanket as a prop onstage...and only admitted to it after 3 days of Internet/blog/message board scrutiny.

Pics of Bristol from 17 weeks til 33 weeks (scroll down)
Question is, does she look ANY bigger at 33 weeks than she did at the convention at 24 weeks???

Oh, and per Palin's FATHER, Palin **may** be able to pencil in some time to see her (alleged, at this point) grandkid..

GP: What kind of grandmother do you think your daughter will be?

CH: My daughter will be a great grandmother. She's a great mother — great daughter, great mother. I don't know about how much time she can spend, she's so busy. But she'll get her licks in. Don't worry

16. As #14 said, the reason to care is...
that Sarah may be lying about her own daughter's due date to cover up a possible lie as to who is the mother of Trig. I could care less about Bristol or her baby, but it is her own mother who thrust her and her pregnancy into the public spotlight. Knowing whether Sarah uses her own children to cover for her is important (though I myself would never vote for her no matter what).
