Last Post of 2008: Are we complaining about the food on the Titanic?
What are we going to do in 2009? Will we turn the corner or will we keep going on this doomed straightaway over the cliff?

Yeah, yeah, we can all "multi-task" (add that to the words I wish would go away!), but can we prioritize?

Can we see reality?

Can we work with our neighbors to put sandbags on the flooding riverbanks even if we don't like the way they look at us?

Can we be TOLERANT of our differences? (This applies to BOTH sides!)

I hope so, but I ain't really counting on it.

So my message for the next year is:

Let's look for commonality between us. Common goals. Focus on points of agreement, not points of contention.

Peace and all that. Drive safely.

1. Bonobo the commonality between us is that we are Americans.
I think we lose sight of that and we have let the Repugs poisen us with their divisive tactics.

All Americans must have the same rights. There is nothing to debate. If an American is paying taxes then there should be nothing to debate.

2. But remember this about the Titanic - you COULD bitch about the food because
at the time no one knew the ship was sinking until they hit the iceberg

10. No we can't...
but the world is a much bigger place out there, and I think 'yes we can' still has meaning to those of us who connected out there to make this happen.
