I'll be glad when these Weak Ass Dems in leadership get challenged for their spots.

1. Now what's wrong with this? It's a massive amount of money. I would
hope they'd take time considering how to spend it. Mid-Feb isn't that far away.

8. Yes and No
February is probably as best as we can do--but it is too far away to help in 2009. This Bush Depression isn't a "psychological" recession like Gramm argued. This is structural and the fact that Bush has been hiding the recession for a year will cause a full blown depression. People who want instant relief want the impossible.

Unfortunately the stimulus package will not take effect until late 2009 at the earliest, so it is indeed far, far away.

2. With 59 dems and a few moderate republicans in the senate it's gonna pass.
This isn't last year's senate.

Jan Sharkowski said on the radio there are a few republican senators who will vote for it.

4. A lot of hat, no cattle and a dose of pork for big corporations.
Obama needs to read the small print carefully.

5. jobs for infrastructure and education mostly rebuilding schools etc, transportation
systems like rebuilding bridges and public transportation. It doesn't sound like corporate welfare to me. It seems to have more of an FDR ring to it. You can watch his last weekly address in the video section of DU he explains it there.
