6. We had some good players but the team it's self wasn't very good this year
They played three good teams (USC, PSU, and UT) and lost all 3 times ....
now in 2006 when they bought into the hype and Florida killed them that
was a very good team .... they played 3 times the #2 team (once @ home,
once away, & once on a neutral field, and once #4 away, and some other
top 25 teams ..... Now if Pryor learns to pass things might be O.K. we play
USC @ home early next year :scared:

BTW #2 cornerback from USC this year is a freak.

The BCS is a sick joke.

7. I doubt they could have won a national title game against either team.
But they should have been given the chance to get there in a playoff system. The BCS is indeed a joke. When an undefeated team doesn't even get a chance to fight for #1 something is wrong.

12. I doubt if Florida could have beaten USC for that matter.
I agree that we need a playoff, but until that happens we can only go by results on the field, and we should not go by speculation over what "might" happen in theoretical matchups between teams that did not play each other.

15. Exactly.
It sucks because I love college football, but the end of the season is so anti-climatic. One of the things that makes March Madness so great is the chance for these smaller teams to pull off the unthinkable. I'm not even a big basketball fan, but they know how to end a damn season at least.

14. Congrats to your Grandson! (w/ BCS comment)
He just got in to the toughest college in FL for admissions!

But, back to the BCS for a minute:
The system will rarely produce an uncontested champion regardless of a playoff system. And how would a playoff system work anyway?
The Thanksgiving weekend games are the traditional rivalry games for college teams. The week after is the conference championships. After that, whether we want to believe that the players actually go to class or not, are finals.
So when do you have playoffs? Into February?
This isn't BB. These players take a beating and need at least a week to recover.
But take this year. Before the BCS game, there were at least five legitimate contenders: USC, UU, UT, UF, and OU. So who gets the bye?
Or who gets left out?
It's not a perfect system and it's not professional football.
Let's enjoy the heart and spirit of the games and let the awards fall where they may.
Easy for me to say as Gator grad but if I was a USC, Texas, or Utah grad I'd be screaming for my team as you all should. The system isn't perfect. But with so many teams, so many conferences - it'll never be free of controversy.

18. But a GREAT College... Congratulations To You For Graduating! He's REALLY
exited and it's not ALL that far from where we live (Sarasota area)!

But I've been to the campus myself for political events. From what I hear... Gators are VERY TOUGH! I don't know where you live, but I was listening to "Bubba The Love Sponge" and that's where I was getting my updates!!

Go Gators!!

Richmond wins their first championship ever, and the same year we elect the first black President. Coincidence?

21. Hey Swamp, did you watch the game?????
One of my coworkers went to FL just for the game. He said that it was great to be there. The tail gate alone was wild. Some people were even cooking suckling pigs in a "chinese box" (every Cuban knows what I mean).

It was a fantastic game, though I had to watch it on TV.

Go Gators, go Gators!!!!!
