What do you think about these dogs, especially the big ones, called Oorang?

C'mon, let me have some fun...Do you think the Obamas should consider these?

1. Only if you bob their tails and ears.
And take them to The Olive Garden.

I'm kidding.

2. As long as it's not some fake "breed" involving "a-poo" or "doodle"
They can pick whatever they want...provided it doesn't come from a puppy mill (I'm looking at you, Biden).

energy and very active.

The Oorang...which I had never heard about....seems to be one the black sheep of the Airedale family

http://www.airedalebreeder.com/oorang.htm
Dogs sold as "Oorang" Airedales today are descended from those extra-large, poorly bred dogs of the 1930's and tend to carry the medical and behavioral problems that are all but extinct from today's Airedales bred to standard by responsible breeders.

Because of the various problems of "Oorangs" they are frequently surrendered to rescue. If you have you heart set on a larger Airedale, consider adoption rather than support an breeder propagating these lines.

6. Yep.
I know one, and I am not happy with him. His owner further complicated things by not training him during his formative years.

He's a drag, I'm sorry to say. I love all animals, especially dogs, but this guy is hard to take.

7. It is sad, because the dog is losing out due to the negligence of its owner.
A well trained dog can be taken anywhere, and is usually welcomed by everyone.

9. This guy is so bad that nobody wants to visit his owner because
they get jumped on. And the dog is now well over three years old.

10. I can't trust my dogs with cats, but at least I know I can't.
They both have a high prey drive and have not been raised around cats, so I keep them away from cats, 'cause I love the kitties.

Someday I will have an adult cat who can raise a puppy. ;-)

11. Airdales have a definite doggy smell -- probably not great for allergies.

And they're very strong and high energy, and not particularly easy to train.
