12. Obama filled in the parts that Roberts changed or removed from script
MSNBC called it:

Apparently, Justice Roberts changed the script in several places, which threw Obama off a bit:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28745226

"Roberts, who used no notes, stumbled at one point, appearing to forget the opening words. Obama, a former constitutional law professor, made sure to insert the crucial phrase “that I will faithfully execute the office of president to the United States.”

Obama is one smart cookie!

10. Yes, he said it
but I'm pissed about that too. What made it bad was that it appeared it was Obama who was stumbling over the oath (which is I'm sure how Fox News is reporting it), when it was Roberts who screwed it up.

OBAMA: I am.

ROBERTS: I, Barack Hussein Obama...

OBAMA: I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear...

ROBERTS: ... that I will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully...

OBAMA: ... that I will execute...

OBAMA: ... the office of president of the United States faithfully...

ROBERTS: ... and will to the best of my ability...

ROBERTS: ... preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

15. Why are you mad? It made Obama look smooth and brilliant.
When he paused knowingly while Roberts sorted his words out, Obama looked like the patient leader, waiting on the minor SCOTUS Chief Justice to catch up. Good omen.

I've got no ill feelings towards Roberts. He's new, he's nervous. His first big national event, and he screwed it up, and had to be bailed out by President Obama (that's right, I said President Obama). You think he did that on purpose? No chance.

18. I agree. He looked very suave. Very patient.
And, I am with you. No fan of Roberts, but the guy is human and we all make mistakes.

Although, judging by some of the comments in this forum, I think you and I are in the minority in terms of thinking he didn't do it on purpose, LOL.

19. We aren't the minority, we are just the only ones scrappy enough to mention it.
 No one else feels like fighting over nothing.

21. Thank you for talking me down slightly, that is a very good point.
I'm OCD, you know, and see, in the presidential documentary in my head, I'm picturing all the different presidential oaths through the years, and I had a videoclip of Obama's oath being administered like in the movies and shit. LOL Silly, I know. Like I said, I'll get over it. Eventually. :)
