The Dems should run a gazillion radio and television ads like:

Hi, I'm Ed Turnblatt, mayor here of Cow Patty. We have a chance to get some gubmint dollars into town to extend unemployment for all our folks who lost their jobs when the snarge factory closed, tuition aid to help them gain marketable skills, and some money to fix our roads and bridges which will put a lot of those folks to work right away. It'll also keep us from doing the layoff of the teachers and police you've been reading about. Your Senator, Owell Ivegotmine has said he'll vote against it. Please call Senator Ivegotmine and tell him that we need that money here in Cow Patty and we're tired of Washington playing games when the future of our town is at stake.

1. I don't think the GOP wants people to have a better life
the states need the money. The GOP is letting the people down!
