Lincoln Chaffe.
He might be somebody that could be tapped for good PR and also be trustworthy...

I realize that many here don't want to hear "bipartisan" anymore and largely I agree, but I want someone who has (or had) a R after their name to publicly work with Obama and also remind the general public how extreme the GOP is etc etc.

3. He's a total lazy ass. I worked in his last campaign.
And he was too dumb and unengaged to turn Dem.

Well, RI now has two active progressives representing them in the senate.

6. If Obama's wedded to an R for commerce, he could do a lot worse than Chafee
I'd prefer he not go that route, but again, Chafee wouldn't be horrible. Connie Morella would be a good pick for an R too.

7. Hey-hey! Like the first name too. . .

President Obama. . .can't go wrong with a man named Lincoln. . .

Plus, as a Rhode Islander, Linc IS a real honest-to-goodness MODERATE Republican. . .

by golly, he's the only Republican to oppose IWR and voted NAY!

Check out all his positions on Health care, trade here:

http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/lincoln_chafee.htm

Though I'm delighted we have Senator Whitehouse for Congressional voting, Linc is an excellent choice for Obama's cabinet. . .he's essentially a conscientious man.

GO FOR LINC!

8. My fathers name is Lincoln. And he's a republican too.
But, I don't think he's up to the job.
