Reading this, my question is why did she feel it necessary to tell us way more than anyone would want to know. One thought is that Meghan McCain is conflicted because her own politic believes likely differ from her dad's. If he were not her dad, she might well have been for Obama.

You do look for shared values - and politics, to some degree, says a lot about your core values. In the case of the Kerry daughters, their views seemed very close to their father's. A guy mentioning to them that they really wished Senator Kerry were President would simply meet with agreement.

The comment about Cindy McCain - is not about age - it that Meghan does not see her parents' relationship as one she would emulate. (Imagine a 15 year older Malia - assuming what we see is real, I think she would be flattered if someone said he wanted her to be his "Michelle") It also might be that the people she would most relate to did not vote for her dad - and she feels awkward when they feel the need to tell her.

I said she is stout. That was not an endorsement of the 12 year old look, which I detest, but a euphemistic way of saying that during the campaign she was built like a fire-hydrant.

So somebody posts a photo of her carrying a lot less weight as if it is representative of anything, then you jump in to continue an exchange based on one photo taken through a fish-eye lens that is in no way representative of her average appearance.

I did cherry-pick the picture, though I don't think it was a figheye lens, i just think she's a little thinner there. To be fair, she gets good grades for hair and makeup, but dresses horribly. She wears these mu mus and caftans that only make her look bigger, but she should go a little snugger and use what she's got. I think she's cute, and you probably would, too, if she lost 20 lbs.

According to wikianswers, the average dress size in this country is 14, she's in that range. Is that "as big as a house?" I am guessing that there are a lot of ladies on DU who don't agree with you. She looks good to me, but that's a matter of personal taste. Too young for me anyway, plus I'm married.
