The way most Democrats and/or cable shows are trying to paint Limbaugh as the leader of the conservative movement, I think Tavis Smiley was assigned that role by journalists when they did not want to deal with the civil rights establishments.


Tell me why we believe what the current spin is in the media. I noticed how many journalists relished the chance 'to take the piss' from Tavis Smiley because the black community wanted Obama to win so badly that we could not see much else.


The fact that it has carried forward makes me remember the stories and comments written about our 50s, 60s, and 70s leaders. It is hero or villain. There is no grey space or context with us.

Sure, I disagree with what he says, especially about Rush being more than an entertainer. That said, it seems as if people expect him to support and say great things about Obama only, and since he doesn't he's a "hater." I didn't hear anything bad really except he wanted to hold Obama accountable and that Obama never mentioned poverty during the campaign. Is he not allowed to have those opinions?

It started during the primaries and it was more than about holding Obama accountable. It was juvenile hate, based on nothing but anger for Obama not coming to the State of the Black Union. If you go back and look at that stuff its makes it easier to see behind this "holding him accountable" stuff. Plus I've met him in person on more than 1 occasion and he is truly an arrogant person IRL.

We have to go to the central coordinating committee and get the chief talking points for how we all think. Our background and circumstances within the context of being African Americans only can come from one point of view.

If we say hater, we mean 'disagree with me therefore is jealous that we are not in place' even when there are is evidence to the contrary.
