Rush calling for debate with Obama to try to make it R vs D instead of R vs R...
What he doesn't realize is that in doing this, he's even FURTHER promoting the idea that HE is the leader of the Repub. party, which is STILL a win for us. He's so stupid!

1. His ego, and his love affair with ratings will drive his party
into obscurity. And, the repukes on the Hill can't compete with his name in the headlines. It's simply beautiful.

4. Yup- now there can be no doubt as to Limbaugh's leadership.
You dont see Bobby Jindal, Mike Steele or even top GOP Senators demanding debate time with the President.

9. Bush never debated Dean.
No sitting president has ever debated the chairman of the opposition party.

11. He's not stupid for his OWN interests, but if he's trying to help the Repub. party, he IS
stupid. The Repubs. would start distancing themselves from him if they knew what was good for their party.

15. And there is the 64 thousand dollar question. Is he trying to help the Republic party?

I remember when Rush was just getting started. In those early days he was allegedly not a rabid Rightist off-air. He still occasionally excuses his on-air behavior with the statement, "it's just a show, and I'm just an entertainer."

That might just be true. Maybe he's just doing the Colbert schtick, but so extremely that nobody realized he was just pretending. You have to admit that over the past couple of decades he has said some mightily outrageous shit. He might keep thinking, "what do I have to fucking say before people figure out I'm joking?"

18. There's no way he IS trying to help the Republic party AND there's no way
he's doing the Colbert schtick. He may be exaggerating his beliefs, but he's definitely a conservative.

12. That's not a bad thing. A) We want people to hear what the leader of
the GOP spews on a daily basis. B) Rush will get paid his 400 million whether more people listen to him or not. We will never take one dime from HIS pocket. That's not the point. That is not our mission. The mission is to get people to hear his nonsense so they can associate it properly with the GOP.

All according to plan, I might add.

14. Rush doesn't give a shit about the Republican party.
In fact, the worse the Republican party does, the better it is for him, because that means hardcore conservatives will be even angrier, and nothing sells hate radio like anger.

25. Oh, they know he's bad news for them. That's why they keep trying to renounce him.
But then they find out that he controls the raving, slobbering mass of morons they call their "base," and they realize that without him, they'll be pulling in like ten percent of the electorate. So they're forced to apologize. Obama's brilliantly maneuvered them; they can't speak out against Rush, or they'll lose they only voters they have. But if they cheer him on, they turn off the independent-minded voters they'll need to recapture power. And the more Rush stays in the news, the more listeners he's getting, and so his power within the Republican party grows, and so it gets even harder to renounce him, and moderates get even more turned off by their party...

28. I should've said I hope they don't grow backbones and STICK to their
criticisms of him. They may lose their base (but I'm not sure-where else will they go?) but they may gain moderates. Either way, he's bad news for the Repubs.

He's got that way of making someone like Rush look completely laughable ... with the briefest of remarks. Watch.
