This place was truly aflame. Incendiary, I tell ya. Those who forget history are bound to not enjoy it. Indeed.

1. Dear God, that's right.
March 4 was the Ohio/Texas primaries--and this place WAS nuts.

Thank God that (barring anything cataclysmic) we won't have to do that again till 2016.

3. Ah, I remember it well. "And Obama said: 'let there be light'."

US Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) speaks to supporters at his Ohio and Texas primary election night rally in San Antonio, Texas March 4, 2008.

Dealing with Rush is small potatoes compared to that.

9. We will toast to the demise of THIS Republican party.
Somewhere in the future. They'll never truly be finished but they will have to reinvent themselves if they intend to survive.

The whole Rev. Wright deal. He was in big trouble. But that's another subject, altogether.

6. Hell of a night.
I clerked at my polling place, and we had a loooooong line when the polls closed at 7:00. I didn't get out until around 10:30, and went right over to the caucus, which was still in high gear. I've never seen anything like it. I hope we continue to get that kind of turnout in future elections.

31. Tough call on a statewide basis.
Harris County (Houston) has pretty much made the transition, but there's still plenty of red. The coming bloodbath between Perry and Hutchison might do lots of help Republican turnout next year. By 12? Much depends on how things go nationally.

Progress comes in small steps, so I'm optimistic about the future.

14. It was a weird day.
Smack dab in the middle of tax season.

I voted early, and then went to the precienct caucus that night.

It was strange seeing the people in my neighborhood split into two different groups.

(I was in the old person line, and I am not old!)((or not THAT old))

Will Texas continue the primary-caucus deal in 2012? Just curious.

Most likely it will continue even though it was pretty expensive in the larger counties.

19. In all honesty, I really don't know
I mean Hillary won the Primary portion and Obama won the Caucus portion.

Obama netted more delegates in the end.

However, it got people really involved and registered. (They actually felt like they were part of the process rather than pushing a button on a Diebold machine and walking away.)

I believe it helped elect the entire Democratic slate to Dallas County. (The Sheriff, Clerk, and Tax-Assessor/Collector are now all Democrats!)

Even though my candidate lost I enjoyed the battle.

I kinda want Hillary to challenge Obama in '12, just because that primary season was so damn entertaining.

30. Bill Clinton called into Rush Limbaugh's show the day of the TX primary. Now look where we are.
That was when he was in full gloat mode over Operation Chaos, sure that forcing Obama to campaign in North Carolina and Indiana would be a waste of money.

Pretty impressive how the tides have turned, huh?

He called into several Texas morning radio shows, including Mark Davis', who guest hosted for Rush later that day and who replayed his earlier interview with Clinton from his morning show.
