Michelle Obama: 'Want pie, there's pie'
Michelle Obama: 'Want pie, there's pie'

The April issue of O, featuring Oprah Winfrey's White House interview with Michelle Obama.
The Swamp

by Mark Silva

Michelle Obama, who has asserted the "right to bare arms'' in high fashion during the first month-and-a-half as first lady, says the White House has its advantages.

"If you want pie, there's pie!'' the first lady of Washington tells the first lady of daytime TV, Oprah Winfrey. "If something breaks, it's fixed. In an hour.''

(The pie in the White House, Winfrey reports, "is dangerously good.")

Yet the Obamas are mindful, as they often note, that they are merely guests in the presidential residence. In the interview with Obama appearing in the April issue of O (see the photo from O here), on sale in mid-March, the first lady says: "We have the good fortune of being able to sleep here, but this house belongs to America..''

And the children, well they are to be treated like children.

"Not little princesses.''

3. Second that.
Reminds me of the episode from The West Wing when President Barlett invited Senator Vinick to the WH for some mutual political back scratching. They go down the kitchen and mainline the ice cream. Barlett says, "You know what the most dangerous part of this job is? Knowing this stash is down here 24 hours a day."

Why do I think the Obamas have watched all TWW?

5. Such a wild ride for them
and for us but in a good way. We are so fortunate to have the brains and the beauty trying to get us out of this mess in spite of being attacked from all sides from people who think they could do a better job.. only they didn't have what it takes to run for Prez and carry it off.

6. Wow. I think this is a first. Oprah is sharing the cover!!! What a beautiful pic!
I think in all the years she's published "O", this is the first time someone other than herself has been on the cover!

What a nice, vibrant outfit color combo for the beginning of Spring!

11. Pi should really be expressed as 2*pi, so should I celebrate on June 28th?

14. What a fun little preview. I never read that magazine, but I may have to
Because I love all things Obama, and I like Oprah a heck of a lot, too.
