Justice Ginsburg: I Wanted That Senator To See I'm Alive
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is responding to Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY), without naming him directly, over his recent prediction that she would be dead from pancreatic cancer within nine months.

In an interview with USA Today, Ginsburg explained why she made sure to attend President Obama's speech to Congress last week. "First, I wanted people to see that the Supreme Court isn't all male," the lone female justice said of the evening event Feb. 24. "I also wanted them to see I was alive and well, contrary to that senator who said I'd be dead within nine months."

Bunning made his remarks while speaking to a local GOP event back home in Kentucky, in explaining the importance of his commitment to appointing conservative judges, and how this would be an issue soon.

25. The "quiet one" is also the one who...
left out the traditional "respectfully" in her signature on the dissenting opinion in Bush v. Gore, if I remember correctly.

4. It's ok if Justice Ginsburg couldn't recall Bunning's name.
Bunning can't remember it either.

15. Bunning's remark is so appalling I just hope it is dementia and he's not in his right mind.
I would never say anything like that about a right wing Justice, much as I detest their thinking.

Just the thought that he said that about that dear woman is more than I can bear.

27. Yeah, what's up, Kentucky?
If there are any DU'ers who live there, I'm sorry for your having 2 f&%*&ed up Senators (We in Callie only have one: and she's supposed to be a Dem!!)

Between McConnell and Bunning, there's not much relief there. And this Red State thing: lest we forget, Missouri is pretty red and they gave us Claire McCaskill!

I bet Mr. Bunning is a devout "pro-lifer." Unborn fetuses are precious, however grown women who have managed a big deal of achievements in their respective fields... well those, not so much if they dared disagreeing with the sacrosanct GOP positions anytime during their lifetimes.

I think the only way these callous assholes will give a damn about Justice Ginsburg is if she goes into a coma, and her family has to contemplate how to deal with her suffering. Then you will see the whole GOP en masses expressing great concern about her life.

I have figured out that the only reason why the GOP only cares about unborn fetuses and terminally ill people, is that they are the only two groups of people who are not in a position to disable openly with them: both unborn fetuses, and people in comas are not know for their verbosity, are they?

one of Saddam Hussein's sons? Or am I getting my wingnuts confused? Nope, it was him:

Why Senate Republicans Want to Bench Jim Bunning
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1883582,00.html?xid=rss-politics

It looks as if his days may be numbered. (Oh wait, I sound like a ghoulish Republican!)

Good health to you, Justice Ginsburg...

Isn't Bunning the crazy one who said he couldn't leave D.C. to debate his challenger?
He broke the rules by using notes during his long distance debate. When that story broke, he sounded crazy as a loon, but he was, inexplicably, re-elected...

And what a horrible thing to say, guess he took a page from Limbaugh's book... :grr:

Yes, President Obama's hug to her was a highlight.

Good health and long life to you, Madame Ginsberg!
