ROFL! Rep. Chris Smith (R) of New Jersey argues that the Stem Cell Executive Order is a...
technological step backward.

Now on CNN.

This guy sounds like a nut.

Says technology has moved beyond embryonic stem cells. I'd like to see his medical credentials.

They do this, and PRETEND they are "informing" American viewers? PLEASE, CNN, get a grip on reality, and try NOT to bend over backwards so that each and every moron in the Republican Party has their 2 minutes on CNN every time Obama does something worthwhile and commendable.

I'd like to see this Republican snot pass a Med School admissions exam.

3. It actually has moved past embryonic stem cells
which probably will make this a moot issue before not too long. But he's against it for the wrong reasons.

5. These people probably thought that the wheels on the Flintstones' car was
goood enough-no need to try to make anything better. They also probably thought dinosaurs and people co-existed like in The Flintstones.

9. Someone needs to post that video when it's available. Also, this is more 50/50 BS.
The media is terrified of backlash, so they're once again presenting an issue that is overwhelmingly supported by a majority of Americans as if it were 50/50.

You know, the country is split in half! What a contentious debate and decision...except that it's not. There's a vocal minority of fundamentalists (and a few random non-fundamentalists) and that's about it.

12. If that's the case, what's he so upset about ?
Scientists won't used them if they've "moved beyond embryonic stem cells." Fucking wingnuts - sometimes you get so sick of them.

13. as much progress as has been made with adult stem cells
they will never be as beneficial as embryonic stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are totipotent, meaning they can change into any kind of cell. Adult stem cells, meanwhile, are pluripotent, which means they can change into many kinds of cells. Also, emrbyonic stem cells are much easier to manipulate to the desired use. Adult stem cells will NEVER replace embryonic stem cells.
