Media spin in action on Hardball
The caption for the discussion on bailing out bad banks or letting them fail was "Key Republicans to bad banks: Drop Dead. They went to break and the phrase "Key Republicans" was replaced by "Key Lawmakers". As if any democrats have advocated letting the banks fail. Isnt it only McCain and Shelby?

1. Dems (and the two sane Republicans left) want nationalization
The far right wants them to fail so that the resulting economic collapse can be blamed solely on Obama.

4. Krugman Is Afraid To Address This Proposal, Except To Offer Snarky Remarks
Edited on Mon Mar-09-09 07:15 PM by Median Democrat
Maybe it has some merit, because so far, even liberals just roll their eyes without discussing the downside of letting the wall street titans fails. What is the downside of simply letting them fail rather than throwing billions at them?

Perhaps the GOP has a point, because even Krugman is attacking Obama's economic policies as misguided. I would like to see a nice well reasoned article explaining why the Republican proposal to let the bank fails is not an option.

Indeed, where is Stiglitz or Sachs? Heck, even Greenspan might be worth asking instead of the typical talking heads, Instead, the right wing, let them fail types, pretty much get to spew their talking points un-opposed.
